China Investment Corporation (CIC) is a sovereign wealth fund that manages the surplus foreign exchange reserves of the People's Republic of China. It was founded on 29 September 2007 with an initial capital of US$200 billion. CIC's mission is to maximize long-term returns from its investments while maintaining a high level of liquidity and preserving the safety of its assets.
